"Belleleckie" 33 Vickery Street, Alexandra
The garden has a parklike environment featuring established trees such as Japanese maples, crepe myrtles, Australian natives and a magnificent tri coloured beech. A huge variety of camellias, azaleas, daphne, rhododendrons, bearded Irises and daffodil bulbs have been planted making the garden a riot of colour in Autumn and Spring. Curves of lawn mingle amongst the garden beds and invite you to wander.
When first arriving at the property four years ago the garden needed rejuvenation. New fencing & brickwork, tons of soil & mulch, edging rocks & new paths have all refreshed this much-admired property. Extensive clearing allows some original and many new plants to shine. It has been a labour of love over several years to bring the garden back to life.
The last of the creepers that had taken hold in most of the garden remains as a feature covering a tall tree stump. The west side of the garden is gradually being developed incorporating native shrubs. A vegetable garden has been developed in the rear yard and work is still ongoing with love.
