3. Loretta & Ian Maggs

43 Wylie Street, Taggerty

I purchased this property in September 2015 as I liked the area and its views.
There were mainly established trees and a small fruit orchard consisting of apples, pears, figs and a raspberry patch when we arrived. I enjoy gardening so over time I have added lots of garden beds with a variety of plants and ornaments.

The long driveway invites you into the property and the Pear trees that line the drive give spectacular blossom in spring and great colour in autumn.
A feature of this garden is the large undercover outdoor area and fernery, the two work really well together and bring the garden into everyday life.
The backdrop of the Cathedral Ranges enhances the views of the garden from the outdoor space.
We have a range of spring flowering plants like iris, lilac, roses, buddleja and salvia, these are mixed in beds with accent foliage plants. We moved the raspberries to a more suitable spot in the orchard and also have a productive vege garden.
A few key rustic pieces, pots and hanging baskets add interest to the beds and the fernery.
