A large town garden with extensive gardens and pathways to meander through the established garden beds. Stunning Japanese maples, terraced areas and expansive lawn, spring blossoms and an established wisteria walkway.

Japanese Maples

This is a large town garden that has been developed over time on the side of a hill which was difficult to work with as there had to be retaining walls constructed for easy access.

This garden was designed and established for wheelchair access for Lynne’s husband Ted, with paths designed down to the bottom garden where there is raised vegetable garden beds that have a wicker system providing an easy watering system.

At the start of the garden beds is the old chook house (no chooks) which has some surprising décor for you to see. There is also a small fairy garden in memory of Lynne and Ted’s daughter Sheree.

The garden is all under drippers on a computerized system making the watering of this large garden much easier to maintain during the hot weather of summer and drought conditions.

This garden evolves all year round with plants providing interest especially during Spring and Autumn.

There are many beautiful trees and plants in this garden, and it is too hard to list them all but the garden is very inviting with pathways to meander through the established garden beds.

Stunning Japanese maples, terraced areas and expansive lawn, spring blossoms and a established wisteria walkway will welcome you over the weekend.

We suggest that you enter via Thom Street which is easier access. Myrtle Street has a very steep bank which is more difficult if you have walking problems.

The Alexandra & District Open Gardens Weekend has been running since 1990 and these are some of the best reasons to consider coming up to Alexandra and the district this October.
